I met Syd in the 1960s when we both worked at the Daily Item on Westchester Avenue in Port Chester and we became very close friends. She was such a source of support to me when I unexpectedly left the newspaper and subsequently joined the Greenwich Time. We continued to meet for lunch regularly and kept in contact over the years until she eventually moved to New Jersey. I loved being with her as we reminisced about family, co-workers and friends. We laughed a lot, and even shared some tears together. In more recent years, we enjoyed being together for lunch with Lynn when she was visiting from Scotland.
